cleaning grates

I have to pass this cleaning tip on. It even astounds me! The only parts to my new baby that really needed attention were the oven grates. I read about the ammonia tip but haven't had time to buy a tub large enough to immerse them in. Being pressed for time and a bit lazy I decided to spray them down one day last week with orange clean foam cleaner that I have had sitting around for years. I sprayed them down, let rain wash them off, repeated several times. What do you know??? Shiny, new metal started to appear. No scrubbing, no wiping, nothing! They are almost done sitting right now with a new coat of orange foam on them. I don't know if orange foam can still be purchased but that stuff is amazing! rain? Let me tell you Texans how it is up here in PA. It rains for 1 hr. then the dew point goes immediately back to 100%. Mostly what is raining here is the sweat off your body! My stove being outside until next weekend this has been the mother of invention of how to clean fast and with as little scrubbing as possible, i.e. spraying the grates and running back inside! Lazy huh! Why do you think I bought a Chambers!
